1 Samuel 17: 2-3
2 And Saul and the men of Israel were gathered together, and pitched by the valley of Elah, and set the battle in array against the Philistines.
3 And the Philistines stood on a mountain on the one side, and Israel stood on a mountain on the other side: and there was a valley between them.
This is the Valley of Elah. David 1: Goliath 0. I am not sure which hills they occupied.
It is a beautiful area, it is farm land, and it has rained recently, the roads were mud pits…

Nope, the only stones I could find are not smooth. I don’t know where David got his rocks, but it was not along the streambed, its just a mud hole.
